I'm just going to lay it all out: "London City" is the sound of me finally making a choice. It’s an anthem for that heartbreaking, defining moment where you know, deep down, you have to walk away and choose yourself.

We're all supposed to be independent women with our lives perfectly in order, but the truth is, sometimes a connection or a vow we made a while a go to someone or something leaves you feeling totally locked in. That heavy, stuck feeling? It has been my shadow for too long, but those days are over. 

The Metaphor: A Vow, A Lock, and the Thames

The spark for this single came from a moment of pure, dark clarity. It’s the story of a promise—a metaphorical love lock fastened to a London bridge. But what happens when that beautiful promise turns deceptive and suffocating?

For me, it became a horrible, slow-motion struggle: you know something is toxic, you feel paralyzed, and you can’t find the strength to cut the ties as they keep coming back. The track captures the feeling of "drowning your love in slow motion," where the gravity of the past is still holding you back, even when you know you need to be free.

The Sound: Cinematic Electro-Pop for the Pivot

The "London City" sound is the necessary strength required to make that first move. The incredible, pulsing electro-pop beat and the cinematic textures are the soundtrack for your pivot. I co-produced London City with the brilliant Leos Gerteis from NJP Studios, who truly brought the song to life with those defining synths and textures. It’s the moment you stop carrying the weight, cut the chords and start moving toward your new life.
